The Bugout Slip

Purchased this slip for my Benchmade 770 and it’s a perfect fit. High quality leather I expect to hold up with care. Lost two Benchmades in a year and I expect this will be what stops the run of bad luck; fits snug and securely in pants/jeans pocket. Well made, well-stitched, looks like it’ll get even better age.

I was disappointed to see that I had received black instead of the brown I ordered. But after seeing the quality of the item I wasn’t even interested in asking for the right one. The feel is NOTHING like leather. The backing is plastic and the front is a weird texture that I can’t describe. I worry that the inside may be abrasive to a delicate knife as well. My test fit was with a mini bugout and an o-pen 2. The knife fits so tightly that I struggled to get it back out. The pen was so hard to get into its place that I gave up. Not ideal at all for an every day item and feels cheaply made. If it were a third of the price that it is, perhaps I would have had lower expectations. But I had really hoped for something a bit nicer than what I got.
